What is GIS?

A GIS (geographic/geospatial information system) is a system designed to capture, store, manipulate, analyse, manage and present all types of geographically referenced data. Perhaps its greatest advantage is its ability to reveal unknown spatial or non-spatial relationships between data types, either visually through a map or model, or the use of statistics and statistical models.  Recognising and understanding these often unrealised relationships empowers the user to make informed decisions based upon these relationships.

By connecting information from databases like Access, Oracle, SQL and/or spreadsheets to features of the earth’s geography, Scope GIS lets you analyse, manage and view information visually on a map. These visual representations invariably reveal spatial relationships, patterns and problems between layers that may not have been apparent in the data tables or texts.

Data on its own is only part of the story. Further leveraging data for the insights and information that the data can reveal is what completes the picture and makes it truly valuable. We take the data geologists acquire from the field and create GIS datasets. From this we can interrogate the data and create maps which are suited but not limited to POW’s, drilling, geochemistry, geophysical, tenement, heritage, annual reports and ASX announcements.

Data Capture

We take your historical hard copy maps/plans and convert them into fully structured, attributed and geographically located GIS datasets, allowing us to provide you fully attributed GIS files.

Data Sorting and File Structure Development

We are able to sort, clean and convert your existing files into a structured GIS file system.

Data Integration and Format Conversions

We can convert historical and inherited GIS datasets to your preferred GIS/CAD package so you can evaluate all the information you have at hand within one software package.
