McPhee Creek prefeasibility study

Duration: Nov 2012 – May 2014

Scope Australia’s services included study definition and planning, estimating, scheduling and non-process infrastructure engineering associated with Atlas Iron’s McPhee Creek Iron Ore Mine PFS.  Key aspects of the assignment included:

  • Selection and recommendation for an optimal location (and subsequent design), for rail pull-through load-out configuration
  • ROM pad and miscellaneous non-process infrastructure design, integrated with process infrastructure civil works
  • Mine buildings and related facilities
  • Power systems
  • Airstrip investigation and recommendations
  • Temporary and permanent accommodation
  • Mine plant and access roads design

Scope Australia supported DRA Global (the study manager) as part of the baseline PFS, followed by a work programme direct for Atlas Iron as part of value engineering works.
