Through the Roy Hill multi-disciplinary engineering services panel, Scope Australia was engaged to develop design and procurement documentation to support the installation of 33kV power distribution from the Alinta 220kV/33kV substation to the mine services area and permanent village locations.

The scope of work included:

  • Power system modelling (load flow, power transfer, fault level, earthing studies, touch and step potential, switching and load transients, harmonics and network resonances, protection grading curves, arc flash analyses)
  • Single line diagram, overhead line route selection and associated design
  • HV switchgear and cabling
  • OPGW (service loop to ground level)
  • Diesel generation interlocking
  • Procurement documentation including BoQ’s, MTO’s, SOW and technical documentation, and long lead procurement items
  • Preparation and lodgment of regulatory submissions (NWIS and NPER, Dept. of Mines)
  • Technical support and supervision during construction (work pending)
  • Attendance and site acceptance testing and commissioning (work pending)
